I recently posted on Twitter my I wish to become a heels girl someday--I wear flats all the time, and the only pair of heels I own (bought and never wore) are somewhere back home in Seattle. Although I can't see myself changing in the near future, I dream about it much more often now that I work full-time in an office...

I love featuring black when I prep my looks for work, but of course, I like to mix it up with brights and other neutrals. This floral blouse adds the perfect nod to the upcoming spring season, and the grey jacket helps lighten the heavy neutrals on the bottom. Best yet, this look would work just as well with a pair of black flats.
However, I do appreciate the few of you that have said you approve of my shoe preferences. Not all of us enjoy running around the city in impractical shoes, but if you do, I admire you. Flats girls unite!

I'm a total flats girl myself. I hate wearing heels out and then having aching feet the rest of the night. Though the pair you picked are awfully gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteYou know, I wish I were a heels girl too and I thought I would be once I graduated college and started working. But then I realized that the streets of NYC are not so kind to heels (or shoes in general) and since I walk to and from work everyday, I really need comfortable shoes. Now I just want to jazz up my flat shoe collection so I can be comfortable and chic!
ReplyDeleteI'm a flats girl too. I always aspire to wear heels so I own several pairs, but sadly they're rarely worn.

I mostly wear flats because of my lifestyle but I LOVE a good pair of heels for a night out or a dressy occasion. While this outfit is a little too feminine for my taste, I love those studded pumps you picked.

The pop of color with the blouse is so cute, and about heels... if only I didn't have to walk a half mile to class! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a heels girl, either. I own a few pairs, but I never ever wear them. Someday! :)

great roundup!
ReplyDeleteI always think I'm going to be more of a heels gal as well but it never happens. I'll done a wedge from time to time but I just can't deal with heels the vast majority of the time.

ReplyDeleteGreat set! I'm not a full on heels girl, but do on occasion wear them to work. ;)

I looove that Marc Jacobs top. Super cute. And the bag is so professional. I like my heels once in awhile, but I'll admit that when I was working in DC and New York, I honestly wore them to work rarely... Not practical.

flats forever! seriously, if Audrey loved them, who's to say they aren't the ideal shoe :)
ReplyDeleteI live in Boston, and I learned that it's CRAZY to wear heels and get around efficiently. But I still strive to wear them someday as well! Also, I recently bought your sam edelman petty booties in black and I'm in love!! Perfect and chic for the city (with a little bit of heel) :) Love your style and your blog, keep up the good work and cute outfits!
