oh, the drama

Anyone else wish they had fancy black-tie affairs to attend once in awhile? Maybe a New Year's Eve gala?
Halston Heritage, Alexander McQueen, Alberta Feretti

Paired with something like this. I have been totally gown-obsessed for the past two days. I can't stop searching them out, and I almost want to run to the downtown Nordstrom and try on a bunch of black-tie dresses. For no reason at all. I almost want to find my perfect gown and buy it just in case.

I just realized how dangerous the phrase "just in case" is when I'm a self-proclaimed clothing collector with no sense of self-control. Scary thought. And of course, one would need a sleek ride...

Um, is this ssoooo luxe or what? Anyone have a good limo story? I've never been in one!

P.S. My little sister just did her final 30 for 30 outfit post! Leave her some love!

  1. Used to hate those kind of dresses, now don't know why, but I fell in love with them. I've never been in a limo as well! x

  2. Those gowns are so so beautiful! I wish I had an event to wear a gown like that! I have prom in May but it's definently not the same. Haha.
I have been in a limo 3 times.
    1) When I was like 5 or 6 at my aunt and uncles wedding
    2) one of my best friends had a classic white limo take us to a dance class then out for pizza haha.
3)For our SADD club at school we won some kind of competition and we were taken to a baseball game in a hummer limo which was amazing! and massive! I was never in something so marvelous!

  5. I've always loved gowns and I've always had to refrain myself from buying them because I realize I don't have any galas to attend anytime soon. Haha, but in the future, who knows right? I'll settle for buying going out dresses. A tad bit more practical. =]

  7. I always wish I had some sort of event to get dressed up for, but now that there's no more high school dances, nothing ever comes along!
I would love to take that trip with you to Nordstrom for that "just in case" gown of my own. haha
Limo rides are magnificent... except when your limo driver gets lost... or the limo can't fit on the ferry that would take you across the way to where your prom is... or takes you to the wrong restaurant which costs 3 times as much as the one you meant to go to and you don't realize this until after you're seated. I've had the pleasure of experiencing all of the above. I should have known something was up when the limo driver had a cowboy hat on... haha

  8. Oh go ahead and have a little fun! Try on those Black Tie dresses!

One summer my friend dated a guy who owned a limo.... we were driven in style all summer long! Then they broke up and we had to go back to our own cars:(

  10. Those gowns are gorgeous!
Limos are some of the most uncomfortable things to be in! I've travelled in a stretch limo and Hummer and trust me anymore than five minutes gets old very quickly! x

  13. I love anything black tie. I have an insane collection of cocktail dresses I've been curating since I attended my first of 6 proms at age 14. Best limo story: 22 seniors, 1 limo: 11 girls in prom dresses unable to see out the window hahaha. I love that dark blue one. its perfect.

  42. I actually have a couple of black-tie gowns because that's what I wore to prom. I have this Laundry Shelly Segal one that I bought for 60 dollars at Loehmann's and then a gorgeous vintage 60s one that I bought for 8 bucks at the vintage store :) Love 'em both to bits. I wish that I actually had an occasion to wear them to though!
