from one to the next

Sparkle break! I love sequins, but there may be such a thing on this earth as "glitter overload" (just don't ask Kayla).  I'm happy with everything the layered hobo look has to offer for winter. Throw in an anorak and I'm good.

Elizabeth and James maxi skirt, Topshop sweater + hat, Mea Shadow ankle boots, Modcloth infinity scarf, Louis Vuitton duffle via Yoogi's Closet

I want to take a second and talk about "bipolar dress." It's a term for that personal style that lets you go out looking like a bum one day and a supermodel the next day. A rockstar one day and a garden fairy the next day. The kind of girl that dresses according to her mood. This is the kind of girl the moodboards of Zipped dresses. This is the kind of girl I am. I have such a variety of clothes that I can get dressed in whatever style I deem appropriate in the morning, from Bond girl to flower child to flannel-clad ranch hand.

Are any of you this way? Or do you have a one-word label that wholly encompasses your style?

P.S. Thanks sssoooo much for commenting and following! During my busy week in Seattle, I got crazy behind on commenting back, but I'm catching up.  Since you guys have been such rockstars, a rreealllyy cool giveaway is coming soon...!

I go from sporty surfer chick to fashionista in zero.2 seconds =) hehe! and I always wonder if people think I have zero style? I have style... I just have to much of it... I love that you brought this up! I think dressing to fit my mood keeps things interesting. yes, even on my slob days =)

  3. I love the jumper, the only bad thing is the distraction the little balls offer when you should be concentrating on work (but then I suppose that's true in other areas of life, heh).

The cold weather means my bipolar dressing has gone right out the window. Now it's just polar :D

  16. You always pick the best items! And I love the idea of a toned down, sparkle free look - I love sparkles and sequins but the contrast of rich and non-shiny fabrics is wonderful.

  18. I adore the LV bag! My style is pretty consistent -- I do have a couple of unexpected pieces that I like to throw in to surprise people once in awhile, but it's generally pretty clean, classy, and girly, with a bit of prepster thrown in.

  34. I definitely have an inconsistent style mood. I like to wear really classic, sophisticated things one day and sassy, slightly tacky things the next.

  41. I am totally a bipolar dresser...I can't pin down a style! But I'm cool with it :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I love girls who can do that... but I always lean towards the same kind of style. And similarly can't relate to some trends. Like I just can't wear anything TOO girly and feel myself in it. I need boots, black and grey tones etc to feel comfortable.

But I really love that- to be able to get up in the morning and say I'm going to go for x look today.

  43. am loving the whole outfit..and i love playing characters with my outfits too

  44. Hey thanks for your comment on my designs, I really appreciate your feedback :)
I agree with your phrase, I haven't got a particular style, I just dress how I feel appropriate day-by-day. However the rain/cold weather usually has an impact on what I can wear :(

  47. LOVE LOVE the grey heather skirt. I use to own a skirt like that in my junior high school days and it was the best jersey material by UO. It washed so well i really wish i could find another like that one. Thanks for coming by and entering the giveaway! Good Luck!

  48. Big fan of the sweater, lovin' the cable knit thing. I bounce around in styles a lot too, but right now especially for my job I'm wearing layers everyday. Guess you could kind of call my style hippy/hipster punk. When I used to work at the library, I went from dressy librarian with punkish jewelery to jeans/casual to even gothish sometimes. I tend to go through a lot of phases. Thing about styles, can't choose just one...

  49. Im definitely a bi-polar dresser. Its like I compensate each day for the mood of the previous day. If I do dark colors one day, it's light ones the next. Fall colors Monday, Christmas colors Tuesday. I love mixing it up and experimenting with what looks I can get away with.

I want to live in that maxi skirt. Looks so comfortable!!
